The Ruby Realm Pops Up on BrainPOP

Monday, November 3, 2014

The Ruby Realm, a digital game to address common misconceptions about photosynthesis that was developed as part of our Possible Worlds project, is now available from BrainPOP's GameUp educational game portal. Middle-school science teachers can access the game and associated resources for free for use in their classrooms.

"The Ruby Realm was the first game we developed as part of our research for the IES-funded Possible Worlds, a National Research and Development Center on Instructional Technology," says Dr. Katie Culp, CCT's Director of Research. "While all our science games are freely available on the Possible Worlds website, we're very happy to have BrainPOP as another venue where teachers can learn about and access this work."

BrainPOP creates animated curricular content for K–12 students in classrooms and informal learning settings, and also distributes educational resources created by others.

The Ruby Realm is available on BrainPOP here. The Possible Worlds website, where all our middle-school science games are available, is here.
