CCT senior researcher Naomi Hupert and Wireless Generation co-founder Greg Gunn presented "The Proving Ground for Formative Assessment and Data-Driven Instruction – Grades K-3" at the conference on Saturday, November 4th from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM.
Program Abstract
“Data-driven instruction” and “formative assessment” have long been buzz terms, but it is in grades K-3 that both have been implemented well and at scale. Early elementary educators have taken advantage of new technology-based products and services for assessment administration, data analysis, instructional planning, and progress monitoring to make such formative assessment programs feasible and successful at producing improved student outcomes. In this session, learn about the most widely adopted technology solution for K-3 formative assessment, mCLASS handheld-to-Web assessments, hear research findings on their impact, and discuss elements needed to implement large-scale formative assessment programs that drive instructional change.
