Annotated Bibliography on Poverty and Student Achievement

To provide state education administrators and others within the jurisdiction of the Regional Educational Laboratory for the Northeast and Islands (NEIREL) with information about studies that have examined poverty's relationship to student achievement, this report summarize a range of documents - studies, policy reports, and papers - that address issues related to the academic outcomes of children living in low-income families. The report was a response to a request from the New York State Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) and supported a presentation with this group on January 30.

This report has been submitted to IES for review. When available, it can be access from the Regional Educational Laboratory Program website.
