Who are EDC and CCT?
EDC is Education Development Center. CCT is the Center for Children & Technology, a center within EDC. Since 1980, EDC|CCT has been a non-profit research and development organization specializing in understanding the roles that technology play in young people’s lives. Cisco hired EDC|CCT to be an outside evaluator of their 21S Program in Mississippi and Louisiana. For more information on EDC|CCT, please visit our website at cct.edc.org.

Why are you giving us this survey?

We are interested in your experience with the Cisco 21S initiative. Your experience may change or stay the same throughout the program. In order to monitor how well a program is working, it is first necessary to see how things were when it started.

Why are you asking for my name when the survey is confidential?
The survey is completely confidential. Your name will never be connected to your responses in any way. We ask for your name only so that we may track who has completed the survey. Additionally, we may offer similar surveys in the future. Knowing the same people answered both surveys increases our ability to track any changes that have occurred over time. It is important to reiterate that the survey is completely confidential. No one, not even anyone connected to your school, will ever see your specific responses.

We just answered one survey. Why are you giving us another one already?
The Cisco Program is a large one involving many components and many partners. EDC is evaluating the overall program, but some of the other partners are evaluating their own smaller piece of the program. Given the scope, it is inevitable that you will see a number of surveys throughout the life of the Program. At EDC, we will try to limit the number of surveys you complete, and ask for your patience when it seems they are coming too close together.

Each survey, however, provides extremely useful information, and we ask that you complete the entire survey.
