What We Do

Evaluation

CCT frequently acts as an evaluation partner to local, state, national and international educational technology initiatives. In this work, CCT researchers emphasize the importance of conducting evaluations that make concrete contributions to program improvement; that build on, rather than impede, the experiences of program participants; and that are appropriate in scope and focus to the maturity, goals, and resources of the program or initiative in question. We conduct rigorous research to gauge the effectiveness and impact of mature, established educational technology initiatives; undertake formative evaluations of pilot projects and early program implementations; develop embedded evaluation procedures for ongoing internal project assessments, and test evaluation methodologies and instruments, all using quantitative and qualitative methods designed specifically for each project's needs and goals. This work takes place at a variety of levels from international and national projects to state and district levels projects and our evaluation reports and recommendations help administrators, educators, corporations and non-profit partners make informed decisions about the near-term and long-term directions of their programs and initiatives.
