Gold and Silver Medals for CCT and Partners

Tuesday, August 17, 2021

The 2021 International Serious Play Awards have recognized two educational games developed by CCT and partners. The first, Mission US: Prisoner in my Homeland, has been awarded a gold medal—one of only two games worldwide to receive this honor.

Mission US: Prisoner in my Homeland is an interactive, narrative-based game developed to engage middle-school students in the study of a transformational moment in American history. The  game  immerses players in a rich historical setting and empowers them to make choices that illuminate how ordinary people experienced the internment of Japanese-American citizens during World War II. Prisoner in my Homeland was developed by Thirteen/WNET, the American Social History Project, Electric Funstuff, and CCT.

The second game, Cyberchase: Fractions Quest, was one of only six educational games to be awarded a silver medal. The game allows third- and fourth-grade students to swipe, tap, and slice their way through various levels, developing their knowledge of fractions and other math skills as they work to defeat the villain, Hacker. Featuring engaging characters in various worlds, Cyberchase: Fractions Quest was designed to motivate students and increase their confidence in the classroom by improving their understanding of fractions and complicated math. The game was developed by FableVision, Thirteen/WNET, and CCT.
