Hands-on Activities for the Eclipse

Thursday, April 4, 2024

NASA's Neurodiversity Network (N3) is piloting a curriculum with hands-on activities in two Texas high schools in the path of the solar eclipse on April 8. The schools serve students with learning differences, for whom the N3 solar science curriculum is especially designed.

"The curriculum walks you through how we observe the sun, the types of data we have to understand how the sun affects Earth and ... electriity, power, magnetic fields, and satellites," said Ariana Riccio Arista, research scientist at CCT.

The N3 project aims to establish a pathway to STEM participation and employment for neurodiverse learners, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
