The La Fuerza-STEM project, which promotes children’s informal science learning through a popular telenovela series, has received both a silver Anthem Award and an Emmy.
Nominated for two Children’s and Family Emmy awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, La Fuerza-STEM was the winner in the Juried Public Service Initiative category for “La Fuerza Creer: Dulce Sazón.” The project also was nominated in the category of Children’s and Family Viewing Series.
The silver Anthem Award, presented by the Webby Awards, was received in the category of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Education or Literacy.
The “La Fuerza STEM: Engaging Hispanic families in science through culturally relevant media” project is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) program. EDC’s collaborators in the project include Literacy Partners, Univisión Foundation, and Creative Depot Enterprises.
