Math Education Equity

Thursday, May 1, 2014

Dr. Babette Moeller, of CCT, and Dr. Barbara Dubitsky, of Bank Street College of Education, are co-authors of the lead article in this quarter's issue of Urban Perspectives.

In "Making Standards-Based Mathematics Education Accessible to Students with Disabilities," Moeller and Dubitsky summarize the research that shows that teacher PD is essential to ensuring that students with disabilities receive appropriate mathematics instruction. The co-authors then discuss the competencies teachers must have to make standards-based mathematics accessible to all students, and the elements that constitute good teacher PD that will help develop such competencies.

The article is availble in the Spring 2014 issue of Urban Perspectives.
