NEH Supports 7th Mission

Thursday, July 30, 2015

Public media provider WNET has announced a new grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in support of its award-winning series of online digital history games, Mission US. The seventh and newest game will be called No Turning Back, and will deal with the African American struggle for human rights in the 20th century.

Each intereactive Mission US game allows students to learn about a particular period in American History through roleplay as a young person living in that era. "Mission US offers audiences a wholly unique way to engage with the humanities through historical and critical thought, two attributes vital to our role as citizens in the contemporary United States," said William Adams, NEH chairman.

EDC's Center for Children and Technology has served as the evaluation partner for Mission US  since its inception in 2010.
