CCT Director Shelley Pasnik is one of 400 top education leaders who will participate in the invitation-only "Schools for Tomorrow" conference sponsored by the New York Times. Drawing on CCT research in such projects as Possible Worlds and Portable Gameplay, Pasnik will discuss the technology tools available to K-12 students and how these devices can be used for learning. She also will address the importance of teacher professional development in facilitating new technologies in the classroom.
A highlight of the conference will be the creation of a K-12 "classroom of tomorrow" to prompt discussion of the tools and applications that may be helpful in the future to both affluent and underfunded schools.
The conference will take place on September 22; sessions will be streamed live at www.nytschoolsfortomorrow.com.
