A recent study led by Dr. Hilda Kabali, of the Einstein Healthcare Network, and presented at the Pediatric Academic Societies Annual Meeting, found that a majority of very young children from an urban, low-income, minority community were using mobile devices; one in seven 1-year-olds in the study used a mobile device for at least one hour a day.
When asked to comment on the study, CCT Director Shelley Pasnik discussed the proliferation of devices for media access. "Pediatricians have a real opportunity to help parents in understanding their kids’ development when it comes to media engagement, as well as other things, and not just solely focus on the body but rather on the whole child,” Pasnik said.
