Pilot Project to Establish a Middle School Program Integrating Mathematics, Science, Technology, Visual Studies, and Cultural Arts
2001 to 2004
CCT worked with Hofstra University to establish a middle school program that integrates in its curriculum the visual and performing arts with mathematics, science, technology and literacy.The project established this model arts-infused program by developing and operating a summer enrichment program for middle school students on the university campus. Project staff also designed a graduate level middle school course for elementary and secondary teachers that employs the university-based middle school program as its field requirement.
