CCT researchers Wendy Martin, Regan Vidiksis, and Ariana Riccio are co-authors, with colleagues from SRI International and the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University, of the newly published paper "Promoting Science, Technology, and Engineering Self-Efficacy and Knowledge for All with an Autism Inclusion Maker Program." The paper describes the collaborative development of this inclusive maker program and the results of a study of the program's effects on both autistic and neurotypical students.

The study's findings included that autistic students who struggled in normal school settings were successful in creating their projects and communicating with their peers about their projects. Teachers reported being better able to see what their autistic students were capable of accomplishing outside the constraints of a typical classroom.
