Karen Eisenberg Steingold, CCT founding director, died unexpectedly on January 16 following cardiac surgery.
After earning a PhD in developmental psychology from Harvard, Karen began a career in educational research. In 1980, she worked with colleagues at Bank Street College to establish their educational research and development division, which became the Center for Children and Technology. In 1991, Karen left CCT to become director of performance assessment of the Educational Testing Service. Yet 45 years after its founding, CCT continues the work Karen envisioned.
