Hanna Girma Wedajo

Hanna Girma Wedajo specializes in qualitative research, policy analysis, and program evaluation. She has worked on a range of education research projects in Sub-Saharan African countries, including transforming education through play and technology, enhancing girls’ and marginalized children’s educational opportunities, increasing teachers’ attendance and time on task, improving equity in teacher allocation, creating supporting environment for youths to realize their aspirations, and identifying interventions for gender-based violence in higher education institutions.
Hanna currently works on the LEGO Foundation-funded initiative Scaling Learning through Play with Technology Research Collaborative, and collaborates with partners in Kenya, Rwanda, and Brazil. She leads the implementation of qualitative research methods and writes research reports to share findings.
Hanna holds a PhD in Comparative and International Education from the University of Minnesota and an MA in Human Rights from Addis Ababa University. She received her LLB in Law from Dire Dawa University. Before joining EDC, Hanna worked as an education researcher for UNICEF Office of Research.
