Girl Talk Project Evaluation
2019 to 2020

Girl Talk is a Sesame Workshop project that seeks to improve adolescents’ knowledge about menstruation and menstrual hygiene in rural Zimbabwe.  The project is implemented in collaboration with World Vision’s WASH UP! program that upgrades the toilet and water facilities in schools in those areas.

The program’s aims are to

·       improve facilitators’, boys’, and girls’ knowledge and practice of healthy hygiene behaviors;

·       deepen facilitators’ knowledge about the importance of adequate water and sanitation facilities for learners, especially girls;

·       increase girls’ confidence in personal menstrual hygiene management.

The purpose of our evaluation is to gain insight into whether WASH UP!/Girl Talk educational materials affect students’ knowledge and practices related to their development and hygiene.

This project is funded by Dubai Cares.
