Middle-Grades Mentors

CCT partnered with WGBH Educational Foundation in a National Science Foundation-funded research and development project to advance knowledge of mentorship as a strategy to interest middle-schoolers from underrepresented groups in career and technical education (CTE) and STEM-focused careers. CCT researchers collaborated with WGBH and other partners to study youth and mentor perceptions of STEM-focused Career and Technical Education, to identify mentors’ needs for support, and to develop digital tools that support mentors in communicating effectively with youth and providing youth with positive messages about skill-based education and careers.
