We developed a strategy to expand the educational reach of the American Museum of Natural History to national and international audiences. We designed a national student biodiversity inventory project to help students and teachers explore and document the biological diversity of their own environments, create local archives, and communicate with fellow participants and experts via the World Wide Web.
