Merav Dechaume joined EDC's Center for Children and Technology (CCT) in January 2006. She is currently working on a three-year project evaluating a professional development program linking technology use to specific types of instructional practices.
Merav has more than 10 years experience conducting psychosocial, educational, and market research in various work environments from teaching hospitals to educational and applied research settings. More specifically, her experiences range from working on a national multi-treatment modality ADHD study to studies investigating the impact of psychosocial factors on coping with cancer. She also has coordinated a statewide study concerning the delivery of early childhood education to underprivileged populations and investigated the development of complex systems' understanding. Merav is experienced in working with large-scale data sets and standardized testing. These multidisciplinary experiences enable her to bring different dimensions and perspectives to her work at CCT. Merav's personal research interest involves young children's quality of life and health.
Merav holds a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from Rutgers University with a concentration in Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Hunter College (CUNY). She is an amateur photographer and is currently working towards becoming trilingual, adding French to her repertoire of Hebrew, her native language, and English.
