Accidental Scientist Evaluation
2003 to 2004

We recently evaluated the Accidental Scientist, an effort to raise public awareness about the role of science in everyday life through the creation of Internet-based resources that use everyday activities as entry points into scientific thinking and concepts.

A project of the Exploratorium, a leading science museum in the United States, the Accidental Scientist encourages curiosity regarding how things work in the everyday world; makes explicit the relevance of science and scientific activity to everyday life; and creates an opportunity to learn science in a familiar context.

CCT, in partnership with the Exploratorium, assessed the success of the various Accidental Scientist online activities and web pages in highlighting the science behind everyday activities and in reaching the Exploratorium's online audience.
