Since joining EDC's Center for Children and Technology in 1998, Shelley Pasnik has devoted considerable time to understanding how cultural institutions, especially public broadcasters, private foundations and corporate philanthropies, can support teachers and learners. She has collaborated with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Intel, the American Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Hall, Thirteen/WNET, Global Kids, WGBH, the US Department of Education and IBM. In addition to her research work, Ms. Pasnik has helped shape national policy, developed public education campaigns and guided the production of children's educational services, both in the United States and abroad. She has written extensively for a range of organizations and companies, including Cable in the Classroom, Apple, the National School Board Foundation, National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture and PBS, for which she created the Parent's Guide to Children and Media. She sits on the advisory board for the Global Action Project, a youth media arts and leadership organization in New York City.
