Intel® Computer Clubhouse Evaluation
2000 to 2003

The Intel Foundation has funded the creation of a nationwide network of community-based organizations that support technology-rich exploration by young people. Based on the Computer Clubhouse model developed at the Boston Computer Museum and the MIT Media Lab, this program encourages young people to use technology-rich environments to construct artifacts, explore ideas, and creatively express themselves, in collaboration with peers and local mentors. The initial goal of the program was to establish Computer Clubhouses in 100 community-based organizations nationwide over the next three years.

CCT provided research to help discover what clubhouse coordinators needed in terms of resources to structure student experience. CCT followed this up by constructing a toolkit that allows coordinators and mentors to help construct a portfolio that informs and captures their work.
