Sustaining the Education Technology Agenda in Our Nation’s Schools Paper
2002

Can educational technology initiatives achieve sustained change within the K-12 system? In this project, CCT explored the issue of 'sustainability' at a time when both enthusiasm and funding for technology in education are faltering after a decade of high hopes and big spending. By speaking with public and private funders, educators, policymakers, and experts from other fields, we identified successful strategies - both programmatic and financial - for sustaining quality integration of educational technology. Our search for 'sustainability' was a search for the ways that schools and districts, as well as non- and for-profit businesses, successfully maintain and nourish effective programs over time.
