Literacy as the Key to Academic Success and Educational Reform

CCT Director Margaret Honey has co-authored with Fred Carrigg, Union City, N.J. executive director of academic programs and director New Jersey Reading First a book chapter describing Union City's remarkable turnaround from failing district to successful district and the role that literacy reforms played in these efforts. The book chapter appears in Bridging the Literacy Achievement Gap, Grades 4-12 edited by Dorothy S. Strickland and Donna E. Alvermann, Teachers College Press, New York.
