CCT has had a sustained focus on the central role of literacy learning in school success. Our work in this domain has primarily concentrated on how new technological tools can expand both students' access to rich and diverse texts and teachers' insight into students' basic literacy and comprehension skills. Teachers have a great need for innovative methods to support students in all stages of literacy development, from basic skills to reading comprehension to critical reflection on the texts they encounter.
