CCT Director Shelley Pasnik participated in a U.S. Department of Education sponsored gathering of educators, researchers and experts in Washington designed to highlight how technologies, such as television programs and computer games, can be used to effectively enhance educational practice. Technologies & Children: Megabytes for Learning presented a policy briefing on reading education, a "street fair" with 23 exhibits that showcased products and resources developed under the Ready to Learn, Star Schools, Ready to Teach, and Enhancing Education through Technology programs. The day ended with a research colloquium on what the research said about teaching reading and developing literacy skills for young children through digital media.
